Many Indianapolis Public Schools students have been working all semester on music for the holiday season. This week, they’re entertaining IPS employees in our central offices with the annual concert series, “May Your Lunch be Merry and Bright.”
One of the first groups this week was the kindergarten and first-grade choir from Ralph Waldo Emerson School 58, a vibrant group nearly 60 members strong!
“This is the largest and youngest group we’ve ever had,” said concert series organizer David Newman.
Our youngest musicians aren’t the only ones sharing the holiday spirit this week; several high school groups are also taking part in the festivities. Choral students and instrumentalists from Gambold Preparatory High School brought their talents to the Ed Center on Tuesday. John Marshall Community High School’s well-known choir, Key Learning Community’s band and Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School’s orchestra round out the secondary schools on the concert roster.
