Big Brothers, Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana was nominated for recognition for being an unwavering presence at many schools throughout our district.

Approximately 300 of the organization’s “Littles” attend 55 different IPS schools and 16 schools within our district have individual partnerships with them. Research shows that additional adult support, outside of the home can boost a student’s academic achievement. As a by-product, those children experience improvements in self-perception, social behavior and interpersonal relationships.

Commissioners presented CEO Darcey Palmer-Shultz and Director of Marketing and Volunteer Engagement Whitney Smith with a certificate of recognition for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Thank you to all of our wonderful partners for supporting the students of IPS.
