Key Learning School proudly opened the doors to the brand new, “KLC Warrior Pantry,”  just in time for the holiday season!

The food pantry is a resource available to assist families’ within the Key Learning School community.  It took many hours of sourcing, gathering, sorting and cataloging an abundance of food, for the pantry to be able to serve those in need.

Data collected by the U.S. government from 2014, shows 46.7 million Americans were living in poverty and atleast 15.5 million of those people were children under the age of 18 years old.  In this study, households with children reported food disparities at a higher rate than those without children. Under the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), the scholars of Key Learning School and other students across the district qualify for free or reduced breakfast and lunch, giving additional support to the families of Indianapolis.

The Warrior Pantry, located at the Key Learning School Parent Center at 777 South White River Parkway West Drive in Indianapolis, is open every other Thursday (twice a month) from 12:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m. in addition to Parent Workshop hours. December 4th will be the next day the pantry is open;  visitsare by appointment only. To make an appointment or for more information please contact Tina Naugles, Parent Involvement Educator at 317.226.4992.
