On Sunday, September 7, Indianapolis Public Schools Jonathan Jennings School 109 and John Wesley Free Methodist Church once again teamed up for a service day. The school and the church have had a good partnership for over three years, including similar days of service last year. Members from the church congregation joined with Jonathan Jennings staff and families to spruce up the school grounds. They stained benches, put down mulch in flower beds, pulled weeds and generally made the grounds more beautiful.
Jonathan Jennings Principal Kevin McMahan believes the way they cooperate is a great example of how a school and its partners can work together to do good in the community. He said, “The more positive things we have happening around the school, the less negative things will happen in the community,” and we couldn’t agree more!
