Indianapolis Public Schools Summer School session
starts on June 15, and we’re proud to offer this opportunity for students to
avoid the summer slide and work on the academic skills they need!

“With the support of funding from the state, we
are able to provide elementary and high school students with additional help
during this summer session,” Academic Improvement Officer Greg Newlin
said.

“Summer School allows students to earn credits
they may have missed during the school year,” said Phil Shults, Secondary
Coordinator for Summer School.

Summer School runs from June 15-July 2 this
year.  Elementary Summer School meets from 8:00 a.m. to noon, covers
reading and math and meets at the following locations:

East Learning Community

  • James Russell Lowell School 51
  • Ralph Waldo Emerson School 58
  • Joyce Kilmer School 69
  • Floro Torrence School 83

West Learning Community

  • Clarence Farrington School 61
  • Elder W. Diggs School 42
  • Riverside School 44
  • Washington Irving School 14

The High School Summer Session meets at Arsenal
Technical High School from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and covers Algebra I and English
10.

Also, some high school students will have the
opportunity to complete coursework virtually via Edgenuity at John Marshall
Community High School, George Washington Community High School and Northwest
Community High School from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. during the summer session, and
at Arsenal Tech from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

We’re happy to continue providing alternative
options for our students to acquire the course credits they need! If you have
any questions regarding Summer School, please contact our Service Center at
