Indianapolis Public Schools has made modifications to our
dress code for the 2015-2016 school year to allow our students and families
more individuality in their apparel options.
At the elementary level, the biggest upgrade is that
students may now wear any solid color for shirts, sweaters/sweater vests,
fleece jackets and sweatshirts, beyond the previous white, navy blue, light
blue, red or black requirement. Other modifications include no restrictions on
socks for all and students below third grade no longer needing to wear a belt.
Secondary schools dress code enhancements include allowing
students to wear polo-style shirts, sweaters/sweater vests, fleece jackets, and
sweatshirts in their school colors (for example, Broad Ripple students could
wear orange, black or white) and no color restrictions on socks and
All students are also now permitted to wear hooded items
that bear the official school logo. However, students are not allowed to wear
headwear/hoods inside school buildings.
On game day, student athletes can wear team sweatshirts and
polo shirts. They can also wear hooded items that bear the official school
logo. However, they are also subject to guidelines regarding headwear being
worn inside the building.

all our students and families this year!
