
Garfield Park Arts Center will celebrate Arts Education Month by exhibiting artwork made by Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) students.
“Springing Forward: A Spring Exhibition Featuring IPS Students” will kick off with a First Friday opening reception from 3 to 6 p.m. on March 3, at the Garfield Parks Art Center, 2432 Conservatory Drive. The IPS students’ work will be on display through March 25
In addition to artwork at the First Friday event, IPS Fine Arts Coordinator David Newman will oversee performances by the Crispus Attucks High School Jazz Combo and The El Sistema Ukulele Group from George Washington Carver School 87.
Garfield Park Arts Center, a part of Indy Parks and Recreation, engages visitors in diverse, artistic and cultural exhibitions, arts classes and special events. It features performing arts spaces, visual arts galleries, classrooms, and a literary arts library.
