Indianapolis Public Schools increased donations to the
American Heart Association (AHA) from just over $19,000 last year to over
$33,000 this year! According to Kathy Langdon, IPS Health & Wellness Facilitator, that increase means “660
lives saved!”

Last year, 18 schools participated in AHA Jump Rope For
Heart or Hoops For Heart events. This year that number jumped up to 32 schools.
“The IPS Goes Red
initiative really helped boost everyone’s event and got more staff/faculty and
community members engaged with the American Heart Association mission. That
mission is about saving lives!”

Langdon is excited to see that progress continue in the
future. “We can’t wait to see how well we do next year—we will certainly be
continuing the IPS Goes Red tradition!”

We’re proud to see our schools students excel not just in
academics but in giving back to their communities as well!
