–Sept. 28, 2016

Fall break is quickly approaching! And while students and teachers are preparing to enjoy the
two-week break, IPS is honored to continue to feed our students when classes are not in session.

With many district students living at or below the poverty level and in food deserts, IPS
understands the importance of providing our scholars with nutritious meals year-round.

During fall break, Oct. 3-14, the IPS Food Service Department will provide daily lunch at 24 select
IPS schools and two satellite locations. Seven of the sites will offer both breakfast and lunch.
Meals are free for our students, thanks to the School Meals Program.

Our special meal offerings are provided during spring, fall, winter and summer breaks and on
inclement weather days. IPS served 59,154 fresh breakfasts and lunches to our students this past
summer.
