IPS Employee Honored by Center for Leadership Development At their recent Minority Achievers Awards and Scholarship Gala, the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) honored an outstanding Indianapolis Public Schools employee. Victor Bush, Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Arsenal Technical High School, won the 2015 CLD Distinguished Alumni Award.

Bush completed CLD’s flagship program, “Self-Discovery/Career Exploration,” in 1987 and has since volunteered as a facilitator for the program for over 21 years.

Bush cites winning this award as an honor both personally and professionally.

“Personally, being an active and productive member of the Indianapolis community is something that means a great deal to me because I not only call Indianapolis home, but I get the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our future leaders,” Bush said.

Professionally, Bush said the Distinguished Alumni Award “exemplifies the energy and effort” he has put into ensuring CLD’s mission to “empower youth and prepare them for their future endeavors” is a part of his daily mission.

Over the past five years, CLD and Bush have worked to increase the number of student participants in the “Self-Discovery/Career Exploration” program district-wide. Well over 500 IPS students have graduated from the program, and numerous IPS students have been awarded CLD scholarships.

We’re proud of Bush and his work with CLD and IPS! We encourage those wanting to learn more about CLD to check out their website at www.cldinc.org.
