PJ Majors plays the drums in a music video. Pheldon “PJ” Majors spends his days traveling to and from different Indianapolis Public Schools locations. Majors, a Field Technician with the Information Technology (IT) Division, assists schools and administrators with all their technology needs. However, while his day job may be in IT his passion is with music, specifically percussion.

Majors has been serving as the drum lineinstructor at Broad Ripple Magnet High School for the Arts and Humanities for two years now. He works directly with the students, helping them become better players by incorporating fun cadences and exercises into their daily curriculum.

“He inspires us to do better,” D’onte N. said.

Le’Che W. added that the inspiration often comes from Majors’ motivational speeches before performances.

“He gives us confidence and taught us discipline,” Kayreion H. said.

“Although I’ve been brought on to see that they succeed musically, I am just as concerned with their personal and educational development,” Majors said. “They’re a great group of kids and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work with them.”

In his spare time, Majors also serves as the drummer in the Christian/Pop Rock group Judah Band. The band was recently signed by XIST MUSIC and is preparing to release their third album on March 31. The album called T.R.O.G. (The Return Of Glory) will be available on iTunes and other online medias.

We’re proud of Majors and his work with our students and the community!
