A product of Indianapolis Public Schools’ performing arts magnet program is coming home to put his talents to the test this week! Nick Abeel, a Broad Ripple High School graduate, is bringing the comedy show he created to the Indy Eleven Theatre stage.
It’s the show you never knew you needed to see: Hold on to Your Butts is a shot-for-shot remake of the original Jurassic Park movie, unfolding live in front of an audience in about one hour. It takes two actors and one foley artist to pull off the show.
“Sounds dumb,” said Abeel, “but the piece is intricately crafted and employs a TON of clever and delightful theatrical tricks to achieve the impossible task of re-creating an entire movie with two guys.”
Hold on to Your Butts was named one of the Top Ten Comedies of 2014 by TimeOut NY, and recently ended a year-long run of sold-out houses at the Peoples Improv Theater in NYC. The show is playing at the Indy Eleven Theater (719 E. St. Clair St.) through November 8.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors; the show is recommended for audience members ages 12 and up. Click here if you’d like to support a member of the IPS family as he takes his show on the road!
