A SPECIAL GIFT — 2019 IPS Teacher of the Year Alexandria Stewart (left) is presented with a check for $2,300 by the Indianapolis Rotary Club. The gift is for a classroom makeover for Stewart and her students at Center for Inquiry School 70. Stewart received the gift during this year’s Teacher of the Year Dinner. Below, teachers honored during the evening also received commenortaive awards.
IPS Superintendent Dr. Lewis D. Ferebee, members of the IPS Board of School Commissioners and several school principals celebrated the district’s top teachers during the annual Teacher of the Year Dinner.
The event, hosted by Eli Lilly and Co., was held on Oct. 30 inside the Lilly Research Facility in downtown Indianapolis.
In between dinner and drinks, speeches were made by Dr. Ferebee, 2018 IPS Teacher of the Year Kathleen Rauth and 2019 IPS Teacher of the Year Alexandria Stewart.
Stewart was also presented with a check for $2,300 from the Indianapolis Rotary Club for a classroom makeover. She is a teacher at Center for Inquiry School 70.
