Are you ready to create a groundbreaking new school for our community? The Mind Trust is accepting applications for the second round of the Innovation School Fellowship; it’s open to all talented, hard-working leaders!
The Innovation School Fellowship is a partnership between Indianapolis Public Schools and The Mind Trust created by Public Law 1321. This law allows IPS to replace historically low-performing or underused schools with autonomous Innovation Network Schools.
Leaders selected for the fellowship will receive a $100,000 salary for one year while they research, build and launch their schools. Local and national education leaders will provide support throughout the fellowship as well.
If you have an idea for a new school but you’re not ready to apply, don’t worry! The Mind Trust is hosting a series of webinars and informational sessions to help you prepare. Webinars will be held tomorrow October 30, November 12 and December 10 at 4 p.m., and an in-person information session is set for January 12.
Also, The Mind Trust is teaming up with Teach Plus Indianapolis to host a workshop for prospective fellows next month. InnovatED is a weekend-long conference aimed at helping applicants incorporate entrepreneurship into their potential school design. Participants will receive feedback from a panel of experts along with cash awards for the top entries. InnovatED will be held November 7-9; it is open to school-based staff in Marion county.
If you’re interested in applying for the Innovation School Fellowship, a Statement of Intent is due by January 18. Selected applicants will be invited to submit full applications in the spring.
