At Indianapolis Public Schools we’re always looking for unique and creative leaders to develop new ways to enrich our students’ educational opportunities. That’s why we’ve teamed up with The Mind Trust for the second round of the Innovation School Fellowship. If you think your ideas could shape a new IPS school, there’s still time to apply!

The Innovation School Fellowship is a partnership between Indianapolis Public Schools and The Mind Trust created by Public Law 1321. This law allows IPS to replace historically low-performing or underused schools with autonomous Innovation Network Schools. Leaders selected for the fellowship will receive a $100,000 salary for one year while they research, build and launch their schools. Local and national education leaders will provide support throughout the fellowship as well.

If you have an idea for a new school but you’re not ready to apply, there are sessions to help you prepare. The final preparation webinars will be held December 10 at 4 p.m., and an in-person information session is set for January 12.

If you’re interested in applying for the Innovation School Fellowship, a Statement of Intent is due by January 18. Selected applicants will be invited to submit full applications in the spring.
