The Indianapolis Public Schools Office of Enrollment and Options is thrilled to welcome the next wave of Magnet/Choice students to our exciting programs for the 2016-17 school year! Selections have been made from the Magnet/Choice lottery applicant pool; all families whose students are offered seats should receive notification this week. 

Nearly 6,000 applications have been submitted for our popular programs, which include Montessori; International Baccalaureate; STEM; Visual and Performing Arts; Spanish Immersion and more. Although the application deadline for our Magnet/Choice lottery has passed, families interested in learning more about our remaining vacancies are urged to contact the Office of Enrollment and Options at 317.226.4000 to discuss the next steps. The following schools currently have open seats available, including:
  • Theodore Potter School 74 – Spanish Immersion
  • Ernie Pyle School 90 – Paideia
  • Visual and Performing Arts Elementary at School 47
  • Broad Ripple Magnet High School for the Arts and Humanities
  • Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School
  • Shortridge International Baccalaureate High School
  • IPS Career Technology Center
  • SUPER School 19 – Action-Based Learning

After the lottery selection, any remaining seats in our Magnet/Choice programs will be filled on a first come, first served basis. You can learn more about our programs by visiting our informational page here.


If you submitted your student’s Magnet/Choice lottery application by December 11, you should receive notification this week regarding his/her seat offering or waitlist status. Check the status of any Magnet/Choice application online at any time by visiting; our friendly and knowledgeable experts in the Office of Enrollment and Options are always happy to assist you in person at the John Morton-Finney Center for Educational Services (120 E.
