LOCALLY

George Washington High School has sweatshirts and fleece jackets for sale at the school. Prices range from $10 to $20. Items are being sold between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday–Friday, but the best way to get George Washington spirit wear is by placing orders with Sylvia Phillips, FACE Liaison (formerly Parent Involvement Educator), via email at phillisd@myips.org. Include the words “Sweatshirt Order” in the subject line.

Want to Participate in IPS Alumni Day?

During Oct. 7–11, IPS will host IPS Week to celebrate teachers, students, alumni and public education. The week will culminate with a celebration of graduates during IPS Alumni Day, which includes these events:

  • Alumni Day:Celebrate being an IPS alumni by wearing your alumni gear or school colors throughout the day at work, school or simply throughout the city.
  • Food Truck Friday:Come hang out (in your alumni gear) with other IPS alumni and local residents and grab a bite to eat from some of the city’s best food trucks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John Morton-Finney Center for Educational Services, 120 E. Walnut St.
  • Game Day:Cheer on the Crispus Attucks Tigers and George Washington Continentals as they battle on the gridiron at 7 p.m. at Marian University’s St. Vincent Health Field, 3200 Cold Spring Road.
