TOYS FOR KIDS FROM KIDS — Students from George Washington Carver School 87, an IPS Montessori school, raised money for toys for the Salvation Army’s annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Families, students and staff at George Washington Carver School 87 raised nearly $500 for the Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots program.
The school used that money to buy toys for the organization’s annual toy drive. However, the overall contribution to the program included toys purchased with the money raised, as well as additional donated toys.
George Washington Carver, an IPS Montessori school, presented the Toys for Tots program with 10 large boxes of new and unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to children in need this holiday season.
“As always, and especially during this holiday season, we are delighted to witness the sense of community and act of giving demonstrated by individuals associated with George Washington Carver Montessori School 87,” said Principal Mark Nardo.
