Spirit of Giving and Service
As we approach the winter holiday season, I am reminded of the importance of giving and serving others. As we enjoy the lights in the circle and the merriment all around us, many look forward to giving and making a difference in the lives of others.
Reflecting on the days ahead, I am also reminded that we have many employees – “teamIPS” – who are cheerful givers and are dedicated to serving our students and families 365 days a year. teamIPS members who are responding to my challenge to give more and improve our services are not just wearing our company t-shirt, they are answering the call and responding well. I am so grateful to serve alongside those who are striving for excellence and proudly holding themselves accountable for improving student outcomes.
As we prepare for the winter break, I encourage everyone on teamIPS and those who are in some way connected with us to consider two opportunities in the days ahead. First, for those who are tirelessly giving and serving at a high level, please take time to enjoy family and friends while resting and rejuvenating over the coming weeks.
Second, please take a few minutes and recognize a colleague by nominating an educator and/or school leader for the Hubbard Life Changing Teacher and School Leader Awards. When you nominate a deserving person who has been impactful in students’ lives, you are celebrating service excellence and also positioning an outstanding educator to earn a financial award up to $25,000.
Feel good about giving the gift of recognition this season, click here to nominate someone now. The deadline to nominate is January 24, 2016.
I look forward to recharging, reflecting on our accomplishments and persistently striving for continued growth in the year ahead. I will also take time to nominate an IPS educator for a distinguished Hubbard Award. I hope you will do the same.
