Indianapolis Public Schools is proud to welcome Donald Caudle as
the new principal of Elder W. Diggs School 42! Mr. Caudle is excited and ready
to bring his educational leadership to the school and community.
Mr. Caudle has been a teacher, career coordinator, assistant
principal and principal in Guilford County Schools in North Carolina since
2006. As principal of the Dean B. Pruette SCALE School, an alternative
education program for middle and high school students, for the last three
years, and assistant principal at James
High School for three years before that, he had the opportunity to design and
implement many programs that decreased student behavior problems and increased
their academic performance and interest.
He also was integral in developing staff professionally and
increasing their buy-in and enthusiasm to improve not just their students’
academics but their own career skills as well. Also, with communication
initiatives that kept parents informed about test scores and how to read and
understand them and that involved parents in planning and implementing behavior
and character initiatives, Mr. Caudle has great experience in motivating
families to become and remain involved.
Additionally, Mr. Caudle has strong experience in college/career
readiness. He has implemented Project Lead the Way Engineering curriculum in
schools, organized career fairs and college days and spearheaded career
development opportunities for his students. This makes him a great fit for the
district and for Elder W. Diggs as we move toward engaging our students in
planning for graduation and beyond starting in the elementary grades.
Jesse Pratt, Academic Improvement Officer over the West Learning
Community of IPS, said, “Mr. Caudle is a veteran administrator who has
established and communicated a clear mission/vision that is based on high
expectations for students, teachers, staff and parents to improve academic and
social outcomes for all stakeholders. I am looking forward to Mr. Caudle
implementing effective initiatives and resources to move staff and students
forward in their development.”
We’re happy to
welcome Principal Donald Caudle to Elder W. Diggs!
