Indianapolis Public Schools is proud to announce a major milestone for our superintendent as he receives national recognition for his innovative approach to leadership. Dr. Lewis D. Ferebee is one of Education Week’s Leaders to Learn From; editors from the national education publication selected Dr. Ferebee out of a pool of hundreds of nominees for this “who’s who” of K-12 leaders!

This recognition of exceptional leadership is given to outstanding K-12 administrators annually; this is the fourth year for the initiative. In the spring of 2016, all Leaders to Learn From will be flown to Washington, D.C. for a series of celebration events and opportunities to share their experiences and successes as they learn from other education leaders.

This year’s Leaders to Learn From are being announced over the course of several months, and we’re excited to share our superintendent’s news in the first group of honorees! Dr. Ferebee will be featured in Education Week’s national publications and communications – you can see his website feature here. A profile piece, highlighting Dr. Ferebee’s work in IPS and his contributions to the field of education, will be released in print nationally in the February 24 edition of Education Week.

Here at IPS, we know Dr. Ferebee is a knowledgeable, inspiring, courageous and compassionate leader – and we’re thrilled to see his tireless efforts recognized on a national level! Join us in celebrating our superintendent’s recognition, and look forward to continued updates on this great honor in the weeks and months to come!
