The Indianapolis Public Schools Education Foundation (IPSEF) is joining the national day of giving known as #GivingTuesday to continue its mission of supporting IPS students, teachers and schools throughout the year.
On Tuesday, November 27, the community can make monetary donations to the foundation via the organization’s website and social media accounts.
While other nonprofits around the globe — including locally — will be asking for support, the foundation will go the extra mile by promoting some of the ways it has helped IPS by highlighting various school partners and projects throughout the day.
For more than 30 years, the foundation has supported IPS through its grants program.
Over the last couple months, IPSEF has taken the time to get to know teachers, school leaders, students, families and community partners, and has seen firsthand how these grants make an immediate difference. And it wants to offer more.
IPSEF wants to identify and provide more resources for those critical needs in and outside of the classroom. It’s building a stronger relationship with the IPS district, and plans to utilize the teachers and district staff as the experts to help them understand what the critical needs are.
Under the direction of new Executive Director Stephannie Bailey, the foundation is looking toward new and unique ways to continue that support.
“It’s been an exciting first six months with the IPS Education Foundation, and I’m grateful to head into this holiday season with many new and revitalized partnerships,” said Bailey. …
“I invite you to join me in making IPSEF part of your charitable giving so that we can provide more support to our inspiring teachers and students.”
For many, that could be through #GivingTuesday.
Note: Donations made during the 12 p.m. lunch hour on Tuesday, November 27, will be matched by IPSEF Board and Staff contributions — up to $1,000. All donors during the lunch hour will be entered to win a $50 gift card from Shoefly Public House Restaurant!
