The reviews are in, and the students of Floro Torrence LOVE their new playground! Floro Torrence School 83 is the site of the Indianapolis Colts’ 8th Annual Playground Build. More than 200 volunteers with the Colts and the team’s community partners joined forces to transform the playground in just one day.

In just five hours, these amazing volunteers built the playground and a brand new fitness trail for the students of Floro Torrence to enjoy. The playground project is part of the NFL’s Play 60 campaign, which encourages young people to engage in an hour of physical activity every day to stay healthy.

“We’re excited to share a commitment to physical fitness with our students,” Floro Torrence Principal Heather Haskett told volunteers as they prepared to begin the build on Tuesday.

In addition to the new playground and trail, the Indianapolis chapter of Rebuilding Together was on hand to lead volunteers in beautification projects on the school grounds. They revamped the kickball diamond, touched up paint, and completed landscaping projects to keep Floro Torrence looking its best. A new outdoor classroom provides an opportunity for teachers to explore innovative lessons with students outside.

“Floro Torrence School 83 and our community have been truly blessed,” said Principal Haskett. “The new playground, outdoor classroom, ball field, fitness trail and beautification are absolutely amazing. Thank you Colts, Lucas Oil, Rebuilding Together, Farm Bureau, Ingredion and all the volunteers who made this dream come true!”
