The Indianapolis area is rich in productions of “The Nutcracker” this holiday season, but there is one rendition of the show that you do not want to miss! On Wednesday, December 9, the ballet students at Broad Ripple Magnet High School for the Arts and Humanities are putting on their annual performance.

The condensed hour-long production is perfect for families, especially those with small children. It’s sure to be a night to remember!  Students started preparing early in the school year and have been working tirelessly to perfect their craft with after school and practices.  Dance instructor and Broad Ripple Alum Nicole Hargo shares her excitement, “A lot of our dancers come in [to Broad Ripple Magnet High School] as beginners, for them to be a part of a production such as this, in a show that is well known around the world is something spectacular and is truly a great experience for all of them!”

The holiday classic will be performed in the Broad Ripple Poston Auditorium and offered at three different show times:

Wednesday, December 9

  • 11:00 a.m. Matinee – $1.00 admission, each person, for school groups
  • 3:00 p.m. Matinee – $3.00 admission for everyone
  • 7:00 p.m. Evening show -$5.00 admission for students/$7.00 adults

*Lap children under the age of 3 are free

This unique version of the holiday classic will include all of the original characters and moments that you know and love.

“The audience can expect to see beautiful upgraded costumes, lighting and stage props that would be comparable to any professional company that would perform the Nutcracker,” says Hargo.

This is Broad Ripple Magnet High School’s 7th annual show and it continues to get better year after year!  No reservations are required. Please contact Nicole Hargo at 317.693.5706 with any questions.
