Butler Lab School student dressed as a book character Who’s your favorite children’s book character? Is it Harry Potter? Madeline? Clifford the Big Red Dog? The students at the IPS/Butler University Laboratory School 60 had the opportunity to dress up as their favorite children’s book characters this past week and had a little fun.

While dressed as their favorite book characters, many of the kids brought in their favorite books to share with their classrooms.

“I liked being Rosie Revere Engineer because I like the book a lot,” Bryn G. said.

“I liked being Harry the Dirty Dog because he’s a book character that’s a dog, and I like dogs. So I decided to be him,” Drake C. said.

The teachers participated, too – dressing up as “The Cat in the Hat” and even the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree!

You could definitely feel the love of literature throughout the school,” teacher Courtney Boyle said. “Amazing conversations ensued as the students shared their books and why they picked their characters.”

What a great event to get our students excited about reading! Check out all the great photos from the day here.
