Congratulations to Arsenal Technical High School star athlete C.J. Walker, who was named Indianapolis Coaches Association Player of the Year!

The Florida State recruit has consistently put up impressive numbers to earn this outstanding honor. He averages 24.3 points, 5.6 assists and three steals per game under the leadership of Jason Delaney who was named the Coaches Association Coach of the Year.  Arguably more impressive, has been C.J.’s leadership off the court.  He has led a series of Tech Boys Basketball community service initiatives over the past few years.  A good student and model teammate, C.J.’s positive influence is reflected in the wave of younger basketball players at Tech who have embraced the importance of their school work and the true meaning of community service.

“I can’t say enough positive things about C.J.,” says Coach Delaney.  “Aside from being one of the most talented players the school has ever seen, he’s a great kid and an absolute joy to coach.”

C.J. is also considered to be on the short list of candidates for the IndyStar’s Mr. Basketball award. The honor, which is voted on by hundreds of media members and high school coaches, is scheduled to be announced later this month. Wish him luck as we eagerly await the results!

We look forward to following C.J.’s future achievements at Tech, in college and beyond!
