In honor of her memory, IPS Superintendent Aleesia Johnson released the following statement:
“This morning, we learned that Ann Wilkins, a former longtime IPS teacher, who also served as our ISTA representative, passed away. Ann was a longstanding, passionate advocate for public education and, more specifically, for the teachers and students of Indianapolis Public Schools,” said Johnson. “I count myself fortunate to have known her and will miss the personal relationship we were able to build. She will be terribly missed by so many in our district. On behalf of our district leadership team and the Board of School Commissioners, we send our most sincere condolences to her family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this devastating time.”
