GRATITUDE — Students at Washington Irving School 14 created signage to thank Angie’s List Foundation for donating new pairs of Nike shoes to students.
More than 400 students at Washington Irving School 14 received a new pair of shoes, thanks to the Angie’s List Foundation and Finish Line. The special delivery took place Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium, located at 1250 E. Market St.
Students filed into the gym holding “Thank You” signs as dozens of volunteers wearing green Angie’s List T-shirts hauled in armloads of Nike shoe boxes.
“I want to say we’re thrilled to be able to give back to you and I hope you enjoy and play lots of sports,” said Angie Hicks, Founder of Angie’s List.
Washington Irving and Angie’s List have a long-running partnership, which dates back more than 15 years. Angie’s List employees have volunteered with the school on a number of projects — from Lunch Buddies, tutoring and career fairs, to donating school supplies and backpacks each summer, and gift cards, food, coats and presents during the holidays.
