One group of dedicated high school students spent National Bullying Prevention Month preparing to help their younger counterparts in Indianapolis Public Schools. Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School is home to the Peace Crew, a group of 15 students trained to be mentors to our elementary school students.

The Bus Buddies at Indianapolis Public Schools Louis B. Russell School 48 are teachers and staff that all volunteered when asked by Principal Liz Mcnamara to partner with one of the school’s buses for the year and serve as liaison, cheerleader and first point of contact for that bus and its students every day.

Over 2,000 students from across the Midwest will visit Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School on Thursday evening.

George S. Buck School 94 parents were in for quite a treat at Parents in Touch (PIT) Day this year. Parents not only met their children’s teachers but also met with representatives from local community organizations that serve the school.

She won the Hubbard Life-Changing Teacher award and was named the Indianapolis Public Schools Teacher of the Year – now Tina Ahlgren is a finalist for the state’s top teaching honor! IPS is proud to announce Mrs. Ahlgren is among the 10 finalists for the 2015 Indiana Teacher of the Year Award.

Sidener Academy for High Ability Students has a long-standing track record of academic excellence. Now the students and staff at Sidener have a new accolade to add to the list – they belong to a Blue Ribbon School!

James A. Garfield School 31’s Parent Leadership University started on September 10 and continues through September 24 at the youth center at Southeast Community Services.
