IPS School Board Elects Leadership for 2020

The Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Board of School Commissioners elected its leadership for 2020 at Monday night’s annual Board Organization Day meeting.

December 2019 Board Highlights

The Indianapolis Public Schools Board of School Commissioners convened for its Board Review Session Tuesday, Dec. 17, and Board Action Session Thursday, Dec. 19. Topics included a report on Innovation Network School applicants, Innovation renewal agreements and a Student-Based Allocation (SBA) policy review.

Congratulations, IPS Summer Graduates!

More than 70 IPS students received their high school diplomas during the district’s Summer Graduation ceremony on Sep. 11 inside Anderson Auditorium at Arsenal Technical High School.

The annual program is hosted for students who complete their graduation requirements after the summer school session. This year’s program included graduates from Arsenal Tech, Crispus Attucks, George Washington and Shortridge high schools.

Next Step in Emma Donnan Process Set for Friday, Dec. 13

The Indiana State Board of Education (SBOE) voted 8–1 Wednesday, Dec. 4, to approve a resolution directing Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) to pursue a charter to continue operating Emma Donnan. This was another landmark in the events surrounding the status of three former IPS schools scheduled to exit state takeover in June 2020.
