More than 130 nominations were received for the Superintendent’s Advisory Councils. The deadline for submissions was Dec. 2.
More than 70 IPS students received their high school diplomas during the district’s Summer Graduation ceremony on Sep. 11 inside Anderson Auditorium at Arsenal Technical High School. The annual program is hosted for students who complete their graduation requirements after the summer school session. This year’s program included graduates from Arsenal Tech, Crispus Attucks, George Washington and Shortridge high schools.
The Indiana State Board of Education (SBOE) voted 8–1 Wednesday, Dec. 4, to approve a resolution directing Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) to pursue a charter to continue operating Emma Donnan. This was another landmark in the events surrounding the status of three former IPS schools scheduled to exit state takeover in June 2020.
