IPS Athletics is thrilled to announce that Mr. Edward Buford has been named Director of Athletics at Arsenal Technical High School.
Ed comes into the position with a wealth of athletic administration experiences having served in numerous athletic department roles in Indianapolis. Most recently, he served as the full-time assistant athletic director at George Washington High School under renowned former Indiana All-Star and current athletic director, Scott Hicks. Prior to that, Ed worked at Arsenal Tech as a College and Careers professional and has taught PE/Health and English/Language Arts, in addition to coaching a number of sports at the high school level.
Ed played both football and basketball collegiately and is a proud advocate for HBCUs having earned his bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Ed also holds a master’s degree in Athletic Administration, is nationally recognized as a Certified Athletic Administrator, and is currently pursuing further licensures and certifications. Ed is excited to begin his tenure at Tech and is looking forward to leading the effort to building a revered and highly competitive athletics program that develops student athletes on the field of play and in the classroom.
