Crispus Attucks – Senior guard on the Crispus Attucks Boys Basketball team Ron Rutland III personifies everything it means to be an exceptional IPS student-athlete. On the court & in the classroom Rutland sets a great example & is evident by his success during his high school career.
Rutland, having a hard time believing how fast his senior year has come, he took a big step by deciding where he will continue to play basketball after his high school career comes to a close. Choosing to stay close to home, Rutland committed to the University of Indianapolis. Even more interesting, it is at UIndy where his father Ron Jr. carved out a hall of fame career.
An inductee into the 2017 class of the UIndy Hall of Fame, Ron Jr. thought it was extremely special for his son to be walking the same halls that he did nearly 30 years ago. A proud moment for a proud dad, & something he will share with his son forever.
Ron still looks forward to his final lap around Crispus Attucks & his teammates, but he understands the future is bright & he could not be more excited for what’s to come.
