Middle Schoolers Show Out at All-Star Showcase

The best middle school girls basketball players took center stage this weekend at our end of the season all-star showcase at Shortridge.

After coming together during the week for practices, put on by our high school varsity coaches, players were picked to teams & hit the hardwood.

Two games filled the morning that saw great action from all four teams. Excellent shot making, teamwork, sportsmanship, & hard play was on full display as every player relished the opportunity of being an all-star.

Game 1 saw Washington Irving 6th grader Shawntee Rutledge take home the MVP award. In Game 2 the performance was so good we had Co-MVPs!

Kenyale Reed an 8th grader from Northwest & Oc’Tavia Buchanan an 8th grader from Arlington both went home with the honor.

It was an exciting morning as we saw the future perform well today. The future is bright with so much talent on the IPS horizon.
