Shortridge High School – It was rivalry week, as the IPS GOTW headed to Shortridge to see an incredible battle. The Blue Devils welcomed in the explosively talented Tigers of Crispus Attucks underneath the Friday Night Lights.
The sensational fall night began with the Tigers marching right down the field for an opening drive touchdown. From there it was all Shortridge. They put together multiple drives that allowed them a multiple score lead as we headed into halftime.
In the 2nd half momentum swung completely to the Tigers as the run game picked up & flexed its’ muscles. It came down to the final seconds in this one, as the Tigers scored with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter to take a 28-22 lead.
A final gasp for Shortridge saw a deep pass get intercepted & seal the road win for one of the most pleasantly surprising teams in the state. The Tigers, in an instant classic, headed back to Attucks with a massive win that keeps their incredible season to another level.
